Color Play Finished Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

A couple of years ago, my dear friend lost a child.  I wanted to do something to let her know of 
my love and to brighten her day just a little, so I gave her my original Color Play quilt (below).  
It was made out of Riley Blake Confetti Cotton Solids and was very bright and happy.
I thought it suited my friend perfectly.


Fast forward to January of this year, I decided to make a new Color Play quilt for my home

COLOR PLAY from Q-BITS

While geometry is my primary inspiration for quilts, I equally enjoy playing with colors.  In this quilt, I'm reverting back to my 11-year-old self back in my grandmother's sewing room by playing with colored squares of fabric.

 When I've been working on other projects, I have been stockpiling 2 inch (1 1/2 inch finished) squares.  Now is the time to do something with them.

Courthouse Color Play Quilt from Let's Begin Sewing

I took a workshop by Krista Hennebury called 'Courthouse Color Play'. This involved making an improv courthouse block quilt. I was still on the extreme color kick and decided to use all my solid scraps for this one. I simply picked one color after another hoping that it would all come together in the end. Obviously it needed a black & white binding to contrast with the colors and some hand quilting!
